Electronics
Back in the 1970's I learned about electronics by fixing cars and home appliances, then moved up to remote control airplanes and boats. In the 1980's I repaired several computer motherboards with a soldering iron and multi-meter. The greatest skill was demonstrated when I repaired an Apple ][ motherboard with a crack running all the way down the middle. For this effort I was the Apple Technician Mug pictured below.
Since few Software Engineers, and a few Electronic Engineers I've met, know what a soldering iron or multi-meter are, one graduate elective credit is awarded.
